About The Role

Platform Science is looking for a Procurement Manager to join our growing team. In this role you will be responsible for the timely acquisition of products and services for a broad range of categories. A minimum of seven (7)+ years experience in corporate level purchasing is required.The primary work location will be daily, onsite in the San Diego, California office.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform daily typical procurement tasks including but not limited to: drafting of RFX(s), proposal evaluations, supplier negotiations, selection and award of contracts, interfacing with suppliers and stakeholders, issuance of purchase orders, resolving supplier related issues
  • Actively contribute to in-depth spend and market analysis across all categories
  • Develop, manage and implement short and long term sourcing strategies
  • Ability to supervise and manage other(s) including providing employee development and mentoring of more junior staff
  • Proficient in Google Docs, Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems and e-procurement type platforms

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, supply chain, procurement or related field
  • 7 +years of procurement experience including a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience
  • Certification in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management is a plus
  • Essential knowledge of core procurement fundamentals with a P&L Savings focus
  • Strong communication skills; written, verbal and interpersonal
  • Experience of redlining contracts and general familiarity with key contract terms is essential
  • A leader in establishing and maintaining business partner relationships, including influencing skills are essential and rising to the challenge when looking after demanding partners
  • Strong problem solving skills, working independently to resolve issues
  • Demonstrated history of achieving year over year savings

This is an exempt role. Our job titles for each posting may span across more than one job level. The estimated base salary for this role is between $101,021 and $154,503. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target range for new hire base salaries across all US locations. Compensation packages are based on many factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, work experience, relevant training and certifications, business needs, market demands and specific geographical location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
