Our Drivewyze PreClear Integration Is Now More Efficient than Ever in Instinct

We’re excited to announce that PreClear has been integrated into Instinct, our driver and back office ecosystem of fleet management tools, with advanced self-service functionality. 

Drivewyze is a leading provider of transportation company solutions and in partnership with Platform Sciene, we are focused on helping customers make their operations more safe, compliant and efficient. PreClear is North America’s largest weigh station bypass service and enables commercial vehicles to legally bypass fixed weigh stations and mobile inspection sites. 

PreClear works by combining transportation compliance data points associated with a commercial vehicle–such as its Inspection Selection System (ISS) score, license plate, VIN and USDOT numbers–and then using GPS-based technology and telecommunications to communicate this information to weigh stations, which authorize the bypass. Some states also check vehicles’ International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) status, vehicle weight, permit status and more.

Vehicles that use PreClear have been approved to bypass a checkpoint up to 98% of the time based on their carrier safety score, and prior referenced pre-clearance data. Trucks that receive a bypass will be notified on their device that they have been approved. They do not need to slow down or wait in queues, thereby reducing wear and tear on the vehicle, increasing fuel efficiency, eliminating potentially dangerous maneuvers and enabling faster deliveries than competitors. Drivewyze PreClear offers bypass opportunities at 900+ sites across 47 states via an in-cab device.

This new self-service capability—available only within the Drivewyze HUB in Instinct’s application interface—empowers fleet managers to quickly and easily edit an individual vehicle’s status by activating or deactivating Weigh Station Bypass. By using the self-service feature, customers no longer have to submit a change to Platform Science, and changes to a vehicle’s status will take effect almost immediately. Instinct customers automatically get access to Drivewyze HUB, and can refer to the “Vehicles” subsection of the “Administration” menu to access it. Once there, customers can scroll to “Edit Vehicle Services” to access the new self-service functionality and edit a variety of vehicle-specific options.

In addition to this capability, Platform Science offers several integrations with Drivewyze services in the Drivewyze HUB, including Drivewyze Free, which warns drivers of hazards along their routes, and Drivewyze Safety+, which enables premium safety and coaching through an in-cab device.
